Cellulose, sourced from local forestry residues, adds strength to our cases while also being compostable. And while biodegradable PBAT is not plant-based, it is a highly biodegradable polymer that completely decomposes without leaving any toxic residue. Bio PBAT isn't a renewable material but it is a highly biodegradable polymer that completely decomposes without leaving any toxic residue - and it can also be recycled. So, a softer case and still with great sustainable credentials. The sustainable manufacturing process of PLNTPRTCT™ And it's not just about the material; it's also about how we make it. Our factory in Sweden runs on solar power when it's sunny and switches to hydroelectricity in the winter, which means it operates with minimal carbon emissions all year round. This makes our production super efficient. Are our phone cases with PLNTPRTCT™ biodegradable? Since we oversee every step of the production process and experiment with different plant-based materials as well as using biodegradable PBAT, we know for sure that our phone cases break down naturally under the right conditions - and that's through industrial composting.
